Random Sh*t Flying Through the Air
I read the first book in this series around this time last year and enjoyed every bit of it. Ford is able to flip between tension and humor without losing the weight of the moment—he does the quippy “Marvel” tone right.
The sequel keeps what worked: momentum, weird powers, and characters who feel like they’re paying real costs. It avoids sequel‑itis by turning the screws on relationships instead of just cranking the set pieces. I’m excited to read the next in the series!
